State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating the theft of a gun and cash from two vehicles on the 500 block of Shane Drive in Effort.

The residents reported the burglary took place at 1:08 p.m. Dec. 14 when their unlocked vehicles were entered.

Police said a Springfield XDE firearm with a full magazine worth $520 and $250 in cash were stolen from a 2016 Ford F-150 and a 2013 Ford Escape.
