Police said they received a report of a woman sleeping in a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe for about an hour in the parking lot of the store. Police said they saw drug paraphernalia and found the operator to be impaired and in possession of a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia.

That resulted in the arrest of Rebekah Rushin, 33 of Henryville, for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drugs.

Police said she refused a blood test.

A passenger in the car, Andrew Ricken, 34, of Saylorsburg, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Dennis Kowalski, 28, of Stroudsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police pulled him over after they observed him nod off while driving.

The incident happened at 5:48 p.m. Dec. 11 at the intersection of Route 115 and State Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Policed said he was driving a 2016 Buick when police observed him on State Road at the intersection with Route 115. After the stop, police administered field sobriety tests to the man, resulting in his arrest for DUI.

Police said a second person in the vehicle, Vienna Velella, 39, also of Stroudsburg, was found to have an active warrant out against her from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. She was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
