Tamaqua Borough Council accepted the resignation of Councilman Tom Cara, effective Jan. 20. Members of council thanked Cara for his service and his leadership.

Council also approved a request from Pamela McCullion not to be reappointed as secretary of the planning commission or the commission itself for the upcoming term. Council reappointed John Handler to the ESRC.

Council noted that they have already received three letters of interest for appointment to Cara’s seat, and that there is also a vacancy on the planning commission.

Anyone with interest in the positions should submit a letter to council.

Charles Rodgers was appointed to an opening on the civil service board.
