State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following arrests.
• On Nov. 28 at 10:03 p.m. troopers stopped a 2019 Toyota Camry along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township for going 103 mph in a posted 65 zone. During the stop multiple factors of criminal activity were observed. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted. Fraudulent credit cards and a credit card printing machine were found.
The two occupants, Diamond Carmichael, 26, and Desean Carmichael, 27, both of Akron, Ohio, were taken into custody on theft by deception and related charges. They were committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning.
Records indicate Diamond Carmichael has since been released on bond while Desean Carmichael remains in the prison.
• On Dec. 1 at 5:36 p.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop at Ziegler and Jonas roads, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.
The driver, a 46-year-old man from Kunkletown, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A consensual search of the vehicle was conduct and drug paraphernalia was found. He was taken into custody and transported to the barracks for processing. He refused to submit to a breath test. Charges are to be filed.
• On Dec. 7 at 6:44 p.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2007 Acura MDA along Route 534 at North Meckesville Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.
During the stop the driver, a 40-year-old man from Allentown, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and refused to submit to a chemical test. Charges are to be filed.
