State police at Schuylkill Haven report on crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes:

• Joshua King, 34, of Schuylkill Haven, was cited by state police at Schuylkill Haven after a crash at 9:01 p.m. Nov. 17 on Garfield Avenue in Schuylkill Haven.

Police said he was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty when he became distracted upon dropping a cigarette. Police said the Jeep left the roadway and skidded around a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado operated by William Jacoby, 69, also of Schuylkill Haven. The Jeep re-entered the roadway, striking the Silverado and then continued across the northbound lane before striking an embankment and coming to rest.

Police said the Jeep needed to be towed from the scene. No one was injured.

• Police were summoned to a crash at 4:46 p.m. Nov. 24 on Long Run Road in North Manheim Township.

Police said the operator of a 2009 Toyota Rav4 attempted to make a left turn from a driveway and struck a 2004 Ford F250 that was westbound on the roadway. The Rav4 needed to be towed from the scene. There were no injuries reported, police said.

• Scott Snyder, 25, of Orwigsburg, is facing charges for driving under the influence of alcohol after police were summoned to a report of a crash at 2:27 a.m. Nov. 5 at the intersection of Summer Valley and Drehersville roads in West Brunswick Township.

Police said upon talking to the driver, they determined he was under the influence of alcohol and made the arrest.
