Four vehicles damaged in Schuylkill crash

Four vehicles were damaged and one person suffered minor injuries in a crash at 3:18 p.m. Nov. 24 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Doris M. Kauffman, 84, of Pottsville, was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville, by personnel from the Schuylkill EMS.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound and approached a traffic light. Her foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. Police said her vehicle struck a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Joseph M. Zukowski, 73, of Shenandoah, and a 1993 Buick Century operated by Leo A. Leinheiser, 49, of New Philadelphia. The impact with the Sonic caused it to hit a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Kylie M. Tohill, 20, of Port Carbon.
