Man charged with threatening to kill brother after argument
An Albrightsville man has been charged with threatening to kill his brother after an argument.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper Jonathan Housenick of the Pennsylvania State police, Fern Ridge barracks, in the case against Juan Abreu:
At 1:59 p.m. Friday, Housenick was dispatched to a home on Tonto Court, Penn Forest Township, for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, Housenick spoke with Abreu, 42, who said that he engaged in an argument with his brother, who had left the residence.
Later, Housenick was dispatched back to the residence for a report of a disturbance.
Housenick saw the windows to the house were smashed and Abreu was screaming through a window from inside the residence.
Housenick contacted the sister via telephone and requested her to come to the residence with the other brother.
The Abreus’ brother stated that he had left the residence due to Juan Abreu threatening to kill him earlier in the night.
He said that Juan Abreu had also shoved his mother to the ground after threatening to kill him, and that he then left the residence and dialed 911 to report the incident.
Damage included windows, televisions, chairs, tables and various other pieces of furniture.
Abreu was taken into custody, and tried to kick Housenick and trooper Joseph Richards.
Abreu repeatedly said he would murder his brother if he went to jail.
Abreu was charged with terroristic threats, criminal mischief, resisting arrest or other law enforcement, harassment and disorderly conduct.
He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Dec. 2 before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.
