Diaper distribution

Zion Lutheran’s November distribution of diapers in Tamaqua has been postponed to Nov. 28. The original date was Nov. 21.

Clients should keep their original appointment times and wear masks when they come to pick up their diapers. Changes in sizes or times must be made by Nov. 25.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m.

The Harvest Home presentation will be at 6:30 p.m. Please bring nonperishable food items to present to Pastor and Mrs. Saunders. There will be a time of music, singing, sharing and a time of food and fellowship. All are welcome. There will be no Wednesday evening service on Nov. 25.

Primitive Methodist

All in-person services are canceled until further notice at American Primitive Methodist Church. The recorded service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org or live on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on the church’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.

Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon family group meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Meet Santa

A meet and greet with Santa will be held on Dec. 4 from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. at Depot Square Park.

Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

There is no cost for this event, but tickets are required. There will be 10 ticket slots available for every 15 minutes. Preregistration is required. Tickets are available at www.TamaquaArts.org.

Children will NOT be sitting on Santa’s lap. They will deposit their Christmas letter to Santa in the “Letters to Santa Mailbox,” come by the gazebo to see Santa, receive a candy cane and be on their way.

Zion Lutheran

Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua will host three Christmas Eve services at 4, 6 and 9 p.m.

Attendance is by reservation only. Seventy-five spots are available for each service. Reservations can be made by calling the parish office at 570-668-2180 or by email at zionlcof@verizon.net. Reservations must be made for each member of a family. Walk-ins cannot be allowed. Masks must be worn. Temperatures may be taken at the door.

Plans may change as warranted by the pandemic. Changes will be announced on the Zion Facebook page and website, www.ziontamaqua.com.
