EPC announces updated winter schedule

The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference recently released its updated schedule for the winter sports season.

As it was with fall sports, the divisional alignment will follow county lines. The divisions are as follows:

Lehigh: Allen, CCHS, Dieruff, Emmaus, Parkland, Whitehall.

Monroe: ES North, ES South, Pleasant Valley, PM East, PM West, Stroudsburg.

Northampton: Bethlehem Catholic, Easton, Freedom, Liberty, Nazareth, Northampton.

In boys and girls basketball, teams will play each other three times each for 15 total league games. The first conference games will be played on Dec. 15 and continue through Dec. 23. The EPC games will resume on Jan. 15 after a break before the schedule wraps up on Feb. 9.

In boys and girls swimming, each school will meet each divisional foe twice for 10 meets. The first conference meets are on Dec. 15 and will follow the same pattern as basketball, but will conclude on Jan. 28.

Wrestling will also feature two matches for teams against each division opponent for 10 total and will begin on Dec. 16, restart after the holidays on Jan. 14 and conclude on Feb. 3.

Competitive spirit will have its EPC championships on Dec. 14 at Easton Area Middle School and will use a scheduled performance time rotation as a mitigation strategy.

Just as was the case in the fall, the EPC will not conduct conference tournaments in any sport.

The first official day of winter sports practice is Nov. 20. The first allowed playing date is Dec. 11.
