Carbon County has appointed four residents to serve on an advisory board that will represent the county with the Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau.

Jim Thorpe shopkeepers Peggy Dart and John A. Sturm will work alongside Peter Kern, Palmerton Hospital and president of the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce, and Harold Pudliner, Weatherly borough manager, along with three others yet to be named.

With the demise of the Carbon County Tourist Promotion Agency at the end of June, the county opted to sign on with Robert Uguccioni and the larger vacation bureau with a Tourism Committee then being established in cooperation with the county commissioners, chambers of commerce and the business committee at large.
