State police seize drugs, guns in Bowmanstown

Pennsylvania State Police seized drugs and guns during a raid on a Bowmanstown home Thursday morning, resulting in the arrest of three people and charges to be filed against four others.

It happened at 6:03 a.m. on the 700 block of Fireline Road in the borough when the state police Special Emergency Response Team assisted officers from the Lehighton barracks.

Police said a large amount of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamines and firearms were recovered during the search. They included three sawed-off shotguns, a sawed-off rifle without a serial number highly modified, a stolen handgun, two stolen rifles and a handgun with an obliterated serial number on it.

Charged are:

Joshua Schlier, 25, of Lehighton, who was wanted for a simple assault domestic violence warrant. He was detained and subsequently charged with drug possession, receiving stolen property and firearms offenses.

Gavin Kane, 20, of Palmerton, who was wanted for a probation violation. He was detained and subsequently charged with drug possession, receiving stolen property and firearms offenses.

Jesus Bracero, 24, of Palmerton, who was wanted for a summary non-traffic offense. He was detained and subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver it, drug possession, receiving stolen property and firearms offenses.

Police said Schlier, Kane and Bracero are in the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, pending their preliminary arraignments.

Police said charges will be filed against Kacie Scheetz, 20, of Coplay; Kyra Daniels, 22, of Palmerton; Seth Sarley, 28, of Laurys Station; and Tara Gallucci of Elizabeth, New Jersey.
