BARC hosts seventh community dog show

Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected will host its 7th annual Community Dog Show on Oct. 24 at the Solt Pavillion, Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and judging begins at 11:30 a.m.

With 10 hilarious categories, it is as fun to watch as it is to participate. The categories being judged will be: Best Dog costume, best dog trick, best tail wagging, liveliest dog, fluffiest dog, cutest dog, manliest dog, girliest dog, most expressive “puppy eyes”, and best dog/owner look-alike. Entry fees for each category will be $5 per category per dog, and all proceeds will support BARC and the community of Bowmanstown. The event will be followed by a blessing of the dogs at 1 p.m. by the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church.

“This is a great opportunity to get the whole family out, and spend fun-filled quality time with your family and pets,” stated Marcella Reeser, treasurer of B.A.R.C. “ It’s always a day filled with laughter and great conversation, something we all need more of in these uncertain times.”

This year we welcome the PFG Pizza truck at our event, where you can order a basic cheese pizza or be adventurous and try pickle pizza or a Polish pizza. “We are authentic wood-fired artisan pizza, scratch-made with imported ingredients. Keep Calm and Pizza on!!” says Julie Ziegler, owner.

Social distancing and COVID safety measures will be upheld, so please bring your mask. Unfortunately, there will be no rain date for this event.
