State police at Lehighton report on incidents

State police at Lehighton report on the following incidents:

• Two Carbon County residents have been cited following an incident that occurred on Sunday at 2:22 a.m. along Lower Main Road in Parryville.

Police said a 46-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, both from Parryville, who troopers declined to identify, physically assaulted and harassed each other following a verbal dispute.

The man was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Nesquehoning charged with simple assault and harassment - physical contact. The woman was cited for harassment - physical contact.

A Carbon County resident has been cited for false alarm violation.

• Police said James W. Emert, 68, of Laurel Lane, Towamensing Township, owns an alarm device or automatic dialing system and is accused of permitting it to issue three false alarms during a consecutive 12-month period. In total, troopers said, four false alarms were sent in the period.

• Police said a stop of a vehicle whose driver committed vehicle code violations at 7:28 p.m. Sept. 4 on Route 33 in Ross Township resulted in drug possession charges.

Police said they halted the 2003 Subaru Legacy traveling southbound. Police determined a passenger in the vehicle was in possession of a controlled substance. The names were not released.
