A motorcyclist was injured, and flown to a Lehigh County area hospital, following a crash in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the crash occurred at 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 10 along Catawissa Road in Walker Township, west of Tamaqua. Troopers said Susanne Heisler, 58, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2019 Kia Soul southbound while Brian Szollosky, 50, of Exeter, Berks County, was northbound operating a 2012 Harley Davidson DynaGlide. Heisler was making a left turn into Leiby’s Farm Market parking lot and said that she did not see Szollosky traveling towards her. She crossed into the northbound lane where Szollosky’s bike struck the side of her Soul.

Szollosky was thrown from the bike. He was treated at the scene by Tamaqua ambulance personnel before being flown to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was wearing a protective helmet. Heisler was not injured.

Damages to the Soul were minor. The bike had to be towed. New England Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene.
