Murder charges filed in Lehighton man’s slaying

Charges of murder of the first degree and murder of the third degree have been filed against Dasean Damont Morris.

Morris, of York, is accused of killing Kyle Hagenbuch, of Lehighton, July 31 in York City.

The York County District Attorney’s office filed the charges Oct. 7. York City Police filed the original charge of criminal homicide. Morris also faces charges of carrying a firearm without a license and marijuana possession.

Kyle King, spokesperson for District David Sunday, did not return an email for comment Friday. Morris has an arraignment on the charges in York County Court at 9 a.m. on Tuesday before Common Pleas Amber Kraft. He remains in York County Prison.

Magisterial District Judge Linda Williams held the preliminary hearing by Zoom Sept. 25 and held both sets of charges for court.

Hagenbuch was shot outside in the area of 900 E. Clarke Ave. in July. He died Aug. 2 at WellSpan York Hospital. His death was ruled a homicide.
