Tamaqua man had drugs, cash

A Tamaqua man faces drug charges after and incident on Greenwood Street in the borough.

Keith Daniel Neff, 37, of the 200 block of N. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, is facing charges of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness for an incident on Sept. 12.

Tamaqua Police responded to 214-216 area of Greenwood Street for a disturbance involving multiple males in the road yelling. On scene officers spoke to a woman who was caretaker for a resident on the 200 block of Greenwood Street. She said Neff was at the residence under the influence of something. She also said Neff left and was headed toward a nearby baseball field.

Neff was found on Patterson Street and was asked what happened. Police noted he was sweating profusely. He was asked if he had used any drugs and told officers, “Man you got me, I have a bag full of crystal on me.”

Neff was then searched and found was a plastic bag containing 27 individual bags of a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. He also had $1,363.
