A Carbon County resident had his vehicle stolen in an incident in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said on Oct. 7 at 9:47 p.m. a 23-year-old man from Palmerton reported an unknown woman entered his Chevrolet Cruze which was parked in the Walmart parking lot along Mill Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township. The suspect and the victim then got out of the car and the woman jumped in the driver’s seat, locked the doors and drove away.

At 9:54 p.m. the vehicle was found near the Brookside Road/Hamilton Boulevard intersection. A traffic stop was attempted but the suspect fled. The vehicle was then stopped on Route 222 north, near the Interstate 78 east on ramp. The suspect was taken into custody and identified as Cheyonia Wade, 46, of Allentown. She was taken to the county central booking center and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and related counts. Records indicate she is currently an inmate in the county prison.
