Panther Valley employee tests positive

A Panther Valley Intermediate School employee has tested positive for coronavirus.

The school announced the positive test in a statement posted to its website on Tuesday.

The staff member was last in school on Friday, Oct. 2. They are asymptomatic and feeling well, according to the district statement.

The district said that the Department of Health advised that there is no need to close the school at this time.

No students were identified as being at risk of exposure, and as a result none have been quarantined.

“They were not around students at all,” said Superintendent David McAndrew Jr.

The areas used by the person who tested positive have been cleaned and disinfected.

School officials reminded all community members to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to stop the virus spread, including staying home if you feel symptoms or are exposed to someone with COVID-19.
