Carbon County court — ARD

A total of nine defendants in pending driving under the influence cases were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program recently by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

All were placed for a year.

Those placed included:

Matthew John Downey,

28, of Hazleton, was arrested on Oct. 5, 2019, by state police at Lehighton, for DUI of a controlled substance along Route 209 in Mahoning Township.

He was assessed $650 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Lori Ann Haman,

51, of Hazleton, was arrested for DUI of a controlled substance on May 16 by state police at Lehighton along Route 443 in Lehighton.

She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Donna M. Lewis,

50, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Feb. 9 for DUI of a controlled substance by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 902 in Penn Forest Township.

She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Gretta M. Mulroy,

20, of Cape Coral, Florida, was arrested on Dec. 16, 2019, by state police at Lehighton along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton.

She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 90 days.

Hunter David Schoch,

20, of Palmerton, was arrested on May 8 by state police at along Route 248 in East Penn Township. A test revealed a 0.07 BAC.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 90 days.

Joseph Clemens Visnosky IV,

22, of Palmerton, was arrested on Jan. 3 by Palmerton police along Fifth Street. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Devon Rene Contrady,

31, of Weatherly, was arrested on Jan. 24 by Weatherly police along Wilbur Street. A test revealed a 0.24 BAC.

Contrady was assessed $550 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.

Andrea Lynn Yurchak,

30, of Nesquehoning, was arrested on May 16, 2019, by Nesquehoning police along Market Street. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.

She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Crystal Renae Vargo,

51, of Lehighton, was arrested for DUI of a controlled substance on Aug. 24, 2018, by Lehighton police along Route 443.

She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
