Frackville state police release details on crashes

State police at Frackville reported investigating the following crashes on Schuylkill County roadways.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported on Sept. 26 at 6:17 p.m. along Route 61 in Blythe Township. Troopers said Walter R. Davis, 25, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion northbound. He was driving around a left curve and left the roadway due to slippery conditions and struck the guide rail on the east berm.

Davis was not injured but the Scion was towed.

• On Sept. 28 at 1:43 a.m. a crash was reported along Route 54 in Ryan Township. James D. Bennett, 44, of Barnesville, was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler eastbound and said he swerved to avoid a fox on the roadway. He lost control of the Jeep, which went onto the north berm and struck an embankment, then rolled onto its passenger side and came to rest along the berm.

Bennett was not injured.

• Scott C. Kline, 19, of Ringtown, sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle mishap at 5:48 a.m. Sept. 14 on the Ringtown Boulevard in Union Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said he was driving a 2016 Ford Taurus eastbound when he became distracted and the vehicle struck the rear of a 2009 Nissan Sentra driven by Robert E. Minnick, 60, of McAdoo. Minnick was uninjured.

Police said Kline was transported by the Ringtown Fire and Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Police said damages to the vehicles were minor.

Kline was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
