Hike scheduled

Locust Lake State Park will have a hike on Oct. 8, starting at 10:30 a.m. to explore the mountain behind the park and visit Silver Creek Fire Tower and Reservoir. The hike is 7.5 miles long and difficult.

The pine stands and brush are perfect habitat for birds and other wildlife.

Participants should meet at the visitor parking lot at the park, which is located before the contact station at 10:15 a.m. to leave for the starting point.

Bring a lunch and dog for a nice relaxing hike in the woods. Wear a mask and prepare to practice social distancing.

Registration is required by calling Robin Tracey at 570-467-2506. You will receive a call to confirm your spot.

All pets must be leashed and get along with people and other pets. Shine only.
