Fern Ridge State Police report on investigations

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following cases investigated by troopers:

• On Sept. 4 at 7:39 p.m., police made a traffic stop along Route 534 at Towamensing Trails Road in Penn Forest Township for multiple traffic violations. Upon further investigation, a probable cause search was conducted due to marijuana being visible. Eight edible rice crispy treats containing THC were located in a backpack belonging to a front seat passenger, a 17-year-old male from Pocono Summit. Charges were filed through the Carbon County Juvenile Probation Office.

• On Sept. 4 at 1:36 a.m. a traffic stop was made along Route 115 at Hetter Lane, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County. The driver, Quinn Temple, 20, of Penn Forest Township, showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. He was transported to the county DUI center. Charges are pending.

• Shaine Kadyorios, 52, of Effort, was cited for harassment by physical contact by police after they were summoned to a domestic disturbance at 8:01 a.m. Sept. 21 on the 3000 block of Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the victim is a 49-year-old woman from Effort. Upon arrival, they found the two involved in an argument. After they were separated, police said they learned Kadyorios aggressively poked the woman in the chest.

Police said there were no injuries reported by or observed on the victim.

• A Monroe County woman is facing charges following an incident that was reported at 11:56 p.m. on Sept. 17.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers responded to White Birch Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a report of a woman knocking on doors of several homes. Troopers found Heather Cameron, 46, of Saylorsburg, who was highly intoxicated and stumbling down the road without shoes. Cameron was taken home and released to a responsible adult. She was charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

• Manual A. Weems, 19, of Stroudsburg, was cited by state police for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 8:37 p.m. Sept. 22 on Frailey Road in Jackson Township. Police said he was driving a 2004 Mercedes-Benz south when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve in the roadway, causing the vehicle to go off the road and strike a tree. Police said Weems told them he was unable to call 911 at the time of the crash and walked home to do so. He was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Police said a Brodheadsville woman is the victim of a theft by deception incident in which someone accessed her bank account through a credit/ATM card and stole $961.10 from it.

Police were called to the 200 block of Switzgable Road, Chestnuthill Township, at 5 a.m. Sept. 21, when Germarys Ortiz, 40, told them she was contacted by her bank about multiple suspicious transactions in her account. Police said she checked the account on her phone and observed the transactions. She canceled the card.
