State police at Frackville report on incidents

State police at Frackville reported on the following incidents:

• On Sept. 18 at 11:34 p.m. troopers made a traffic stop along West Oak at South Catherine streets, in Shenandoah. The driver, Christian Ashby, 24, of Shenandoah, showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody for driving under the influence. Charges will be filed.

• On Sept. 18 at 6:46 p.m. troopers made a traffic stop along Center and West Center streets in Shenandoah. A probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle. The driver, Erick Lauffer, 45, of Shenandoah, was found in possession of a controlled substance. Charges will be filed.

• On Sept. 3 at 6:02 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along South Hoffman Boulevard at Pine Street, Ashland. A passenger in the vehicle, Jessica Day, 26, of Mount Carmel, was found to have a summary warrant. She was taken into custody and found in possession of a controlled substance. Charges will be filed.

• On Aug. 23 at 3:17 p.m. troopers received a report of a large amount of trash being deposited on property owned by Reading Anthracite Company, Pottsville, and located off the Burma and Firetower roads in Blythe Township. An investigation revealed that Jesse Smith, 37, of Schuylkill Haven, committed the offense. As a result he was charged with scattering rubbish.
