Loud party leads to multiple citations

Over a dozen people were cited for disorderly conduct after police discovered a large party in the woods on the Broad Mountain in Nesquehoning.

According to Nesquehoning police Chief Sean Smith, the department had received a number of complaints from residents over several weeks about loud music somewhere on the Broad Mountain. The music was loud enough to be heard at homes in the borough.

Officer Kyle Sabulsky was dispatched to the area where the music was coming from at 9:58 p.m. on Sept. 10. Assisting him were police from Weatherly, Jim Thorpe and Lansford.

As officers arrived they found multiple people at the state rifle range having a big party. A total of 14 people were cited for causing the disturbance.
