Carbon County court — guilty pleas
A Bucks County man admitted on Thursday to causing damages at the Carbon County prison.
He was one of five defendants in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.
Dylan R. Dearth,
25, of Doylestown, pleaded to one count of institutional vandalism, for an incident on June 2, 2019, at the county prison. He threw an object that broke a window at the prison. He was charged by Nesquehoning police. His plea was entered via video from the county prison.
Nanovic sentenced him to time-served (six days) to one year in jail and ordered he make restitution to the county of $1,290.
Coleen Elaine Kissling,
31, of Tuscarora, Schuylkill County, pleaded to one count of retail theft, as a felony 3. She was arrested by Mahoning Township police on Dec. 3, 2019, at the Walmart store where she attempted to steal a total of 180 items with a total value of $1,935.65.
Sentencing was deferred so the adult probation office can prepare a presentence investigation report.
Joseph Lindermuth,
20, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of retail theft. He was arrested by Mahoning Township police for an incident at the Walmart store where he attempted to steal $199.28 in merchandise.
He was placed on probation for two years, consecutive to a Bucks County sentence he is now serving, and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use, supply a DNA sample and make restitution to Walmart for $199.28.
Victor Perez,
56, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of theft. He was charged by Lansford police for an incident on June 12, when he took a Walmart auto battery from a porch along West Kline Avenue.
He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Angelo Frank Becker,
34, of Coplay, Lehigh County, pleaded to one count of disorderly conduct, as a summary offense. He was arrested on Sept. 18, 2018, by Palmerton police for an incident at St. Luke’s hospital.
He was fined $300 and costs.
Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
