I support Democrat Attorney Susan Wild who is currently serving in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, which includes part of Monroe County. She has done an outstanding job. She supported the extension of the Paycheck Protection Program. She proposed grants for smaller endangered restaurants. She joined 113 of her colleagues to protect American workers in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement that makes Mexico uphold its end of the deal.

She pushed for federal support for local OraSure in Bethlehem to expand COVID-19 testing. She voted for the “The Moving Forward Act” which will include a 10-year smarter, safer infrastructure plan. “This will bring millions of shovel-ready jobs for Americans and bring us in to the 21st century.” Recently she fought to stop the U.S. Postal changes by Louis DeJoy.

Her opponent is millionaire Lisa Scheller, who is president of the Silberline company and she was running on jobs, is she? This company has locations in Mexico, South American, India, Europe and two in China. It employs about 500 people, and only about 125 of those jobs are in the U.S. Now, about American jobs, by July 2019 Silberline was to officially close the Decatur, Indiana, plant with the loss of about 50 jobs. That location used to employ 120. She has called the Green Deal “a radical proposal” which includes clean air and water.

Her Hometown Tidewater Facility needs an NPDES permit and has had violations in the past. Nesquehoning Creek, a high-quality, cold water fishery is nearby. My concern is that she is inexperienced and was supported by Trump. Currently under his administration more than 80 EPA rules and regulations are being revised or removed. In June 2020 they actually gutted the “Clean Water Act” that has protected our water for 50 years.
