Objectionable opinion

Dear Editor,

As a reader and subscriber to your newspaper, I object to your publication of the opinion by Dick Polman on Aug. 4. While Mr. Polman is free to write and publish whatever he wants to say on his own, you are not forced to print it. Indeed, the venomous language he uses to refer to our president (“the worst excuse for a human to ever squat in the Oval Office.”) trashes the language of human decency he claims to like.

As a former high school teacher, I would not let my students talk that way about ANYONE. Your readers, young and old, look to you to present different opinions while maintaining high standards of moral and literary decency.

Sincerely,

Linda P. Stewart
