Carbon County court — DUI

Guilty pleas were entered on Monday in Carbon County court to driving under the influence and related charges.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted pleas from:

Michele Marie Graver,

61, of Lehighton, was arrested on Dec. 11, 2019, by Lehighton police along South Fifth Street. She pleaded to DUI-general impairment, which was added to the original complaint, with a charge of DUI-controlled substance dropped in a plea deal with the district attorney’s office.

Serfass placed her on probation for six months and ordered she pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

Brenda D. Fritzinger,

49, of Lehighton, was arrested on May 30, 2019, by Lehighton police along Route 443. She pleaded to DUI of a controlled substance. The police report indicated methamphetamine was found in her system.

Sentencing was deferred.

Courtney Lynn Dickson,

26, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to driving under suspension, DUI related, and accidents involving damage to attended vehicle/property. She was arrested on Nov. 5, 2019, by state police at Fern Ridge along Fawn Road in Penn Forest Township. She was involved in a crash.

On the accidents count Serfass sentenced her to serve one to 12 months in prison and on the suspension count to serve 45 to 90 days in prison. She was also ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the suspension count, render a total of 50 hours of community service and make restitution of $604.

The terms run concurrent to each other and concurrent to a sentence she is presently serving in the county prison for another suspension charge.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
