Troopers said according to a witness, a 14-year-old boy from Cressona was attempting to cross Route 183. The witness said the teen hesitated for a moment, then ran directly in front of a 2002 Ford Escape driven by Mackenzie S. Kohr, 23, of Schuylkill Haven. The teen struck the hood and windshield of the Escape with his head and was thrown into the air.

Fuller, 54, of Pottsville, was northbound on Route 61 in North Manheim Township driving a 2001 Ford Escape while Jennifer M. Yorski, 35, of Pottsville, also northbound in a 2005 Honda Civic, was stopped due to a construction vehicle. Yorski applied the brakes on her vehicle but they did not engage. The front of her vehicle hit the rear of Fuller’s vehicle. The Ford then struck the construction vehicle operated by Kevin J. Reese, 59, of Ashland. Reese sustained a suspected minor injury and was treated at the scene.
