Tamaqua Police Log

Tamaqua Police reported on the following incidents:

• A vehicle stop on Aug. 15, at 11:20 p.m. led to the arrest of the driver and two passengers, all on drug counts.

Charged were Savannah Ann Stuckley, 19, of Oak Street, Lansford, the driver; Dakota David Albertson, 19, of Pine Street, Tamaqua, and Kaleyia Mercedes Polanco, 20, of West Catawissa Street, Nesquehoning. All three were charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police stopped the vehicle for a equipment violation along East Broad Street. Officers detected the odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle. Stuckley said she and her two passengers had been smoking marijuana earlier. A vehicle search was conducted and found was burned marijuana and a glass jar containing suspected marijuana, which resulted in the charges being filed.

• Michael D. Moore, 37, of Agate Drive, Verona, Allegheny County, is facing charges of driving under the influence and a summary motor vehicle code violation.

On Aug. 16 at 12:38 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on Pine Street after observing the vehicle weaving dramatically on the road and crossing the double yellow line. The driver was identified as Moore. Police detected the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. He was placed under arrest for DUI. He refused a blood test.

• Rashawn Charles Gass, 33, of Pitt Street, Tamaqua, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Aug. 16 at 10:24 a.m. police responded to Gass’ address to assist a EMS unit. On scene police were handed a bag containing white powder substance. Gass was being treated for an overdose and the bag was found next to him in the bathroom area. Narcan was administered to Gass and he responded positively. He then refused further medical attention. He admitted using heroin and/or fentanyl.
