State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft incident involving welding lead reels.

Troopers said on Aug. 21 they received a report that someone purchased multiple welding lead reels through the internet from Welding For Less, located along Timothy Drive, in Effort, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, through its website. The purchases were made with a fraudulent credit card. The purchases totaled $6,800 and were sent to various locations throughout the United States.
