They may have to wait a little longer. But Towamensing Elementary School children have a committee working for them to construct an almost all-new, wholly up-to-date $40,000 playground by the time school starts next year.

Gregory Cope, a parent who heads up the committee, showed the Palmerton Area School Board Tuesday night a colorful layout for the playground, which was designed by Game Plan, a Harrisburg company, that he called “the pre-eminent manufacturer of playground equipment.”

Other members of the committee include Principal Denise Wettstein, Pat Koons, Dwight Hunsicker, Barbara Balliet and Lisa Kohler.
