Schuylkill crashes

State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County:

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 11:44 a.m. on Aug. 31 along Route 443 in East Brunswick Township. Trooper said Jessie L. Gumpy, 30, of Tamaqua, and Christian J. Motley, 25, of Pottstown, were both traveling eastbound when Motley stopped, attempting a turn left onto Church Street. Gumpy didn’t see Motley stopping and the front of his 2018 Kia Sorento hit the rear of Motley’s 2017 Nissan.

Grumpy and his four passengers, three girls ages 10, 9 and 3, and a boy, age 5, were all not injured. Motley suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by New Ringgold ambulance personnel.

• Troopers investigated a motorcycle crash about 6 p.m. on Sept. 2 along West Mount Laffee Road in Cass Township. Kyrsten B. Kelly, 27, of Pottsville, was driving a 2007 Honda CRF eastbound and attempted to slow down for a left turn. Kelly was inexperienced in driving a bike and used the front brake heavily. During the braking, Kelly dropped the bike on its left side and slid on the road for about 25 feet before coming to final rest. Kelly suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s-Geisinger Hospital, Orwigsburg. She was wearing a helmet.

Troopers noted the bike was unregistered. She was cited for that violation.
