The Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors has voted unanimously not to change the name of the Maury Road to Ramblers Ranch Road.

Tommy Schafer approached the township a few months ago and asked them to consider the name change after his family built the Ramblers Ranch entertainment complex for close to $5 million high atop the mountain off the road.

The board’s decision comes after it received a petition signed by numerous township residents in opposition to the change. The supervisors said the Maury Road was named after a family that lived there years ago.

The road runs from Route 903 in the township to Long Run Road in Franklin Township.
