Tamaqua police log

Tamaqua police reported on the following arrests:

• Keith Wilkinson, 43, listed as homeless, is facing a charge of public drunkenness. Police said on Aug. 19 at 5:06 p.m. they responded to a EMS advisory at 30 Center St., for a person down in the parking lot of Fegley’s. Wilkinson was taken to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale, by ambulance due to the level of his intoxication.

• Travis Kyle Christman, 28, of the 400 block of E. Broad Street, Tamaqua, has been charged with harassment. On Aug. 6, at 11:04 p.m., police were dispatched to the apartments across from the Turkey Hill on East Broad Street for a report of a disturbance. Nothing was found but a resident did say she had heard some yelling earlier. As police investigated they received a call from the communications center that a woman from Hazle Street called to report she had been assaulted by Christman. Police spoke to the woman who had visible signs of injuries but refused medical treatment. She gave a written statement. Charges were filed.

• James Rolland, 55, of Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, has been charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. On Aug. 8 at 12:50 a.m. police were on patrol in the 100 block of Schuylkill Avenue when they were informed by a group of young people about a man yelling at them. Police found Rolland in a intoxicated state and he was eventually placed under arrest and held at the police station until 7 a.m. and released.

• Troy David Emerich, 56, of the 1200 block of Valley Road, Tamaqua, has been charged with drug possession. On Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. Emerich came to the police station to make a complaint about his landlord. He had been evicted from his residence on Pine Street a week earlier. While at the station it was learned that Emerich had an active warrant for his arrest for a violation of a protection from abuse order. Emerch was then taken into custody on the warrant. While checking him for weapons, police found a glass pipe in his front pocket, a knife and a black pouch. He admitted having marijuana and methamphetamine. Charges were then filed.

• Anthony George Vitale, 28, of South Greenwood Street, Tamaqua, has been charged with disorderly conduct. On Aug. 3 at 6:08 p.m. police responded to the Family Dollar Store at 125 Center St. for a report of a customer out of control. On scene officers found Vitale in the parking lot. The store manager said Vitale was in the store using obscene language and when told to stop by the manager, he offered the person to go outside. Charges were filed.

• Robert C. Hibbler, 70, of 324 Lincoln St., and Grant Miller, 71, of 201 E. Broad St., both of Tamaqua, were cited for public drunkenness incident on July 24 at 7 p.m. Police were called to Pine and Broad streets for a man drinking and urinating on the sidewalk. On scene officers found Hibbler and Miller sitting down drinking beer and liquor. Both were warned they were not allowed to consume alcohol on the sidewalk and urinate in public. A short time later police were called back the scene. This time both were cited.
