State police report on Schuylkill crashes

State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

A one-vehicle crash was reported about 5:24 p.m. on Aug. 20 along Route 209 in Schuylkill Township. Troopers said Jason Rodden, 36, of Centerton, Arizona, was driving a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound near the intersection with Piersol Street, when a deer entered the road in front of him. The bike hit the deer, causing the bike to slid across the opposing lane of travel. Rodden, who was wearing a helmet, suffered a suspect minor injury and was transported to St. Luke’s Miner’s Hospital, Coaldale, by Tamaqua ambulance. The bike had to be towed.

Another motorcycle involved crash occurred about 5:39 pm. On Aug. 21 along Interstate 81 in Foster Township. Troopers said Michael P. Shutter, 39, of Lebanon, was operating a 2014 Harley-Davidson bike northbound when another northbound vehicle passed him. The other vehicle struck the bike with the passenger side mirror. The other driver continued northbound without stopping. The hit-and-run vehicle was described as being white four-door sedan. Shutter was not injured. Shutter was not injured.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:25 p.m. on Aug. 21 on I-81 in Foster Township. Tracy A. Pangallo, 46, of Falls Creek, Jefferson County, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Genesis southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. She was unable to avoid the animal and struck it. Pangallo was not injured but the vehicle suffered disabling damages and had to be towed.

A crash was reported at 9:18 a.m. on Aug. 29 along I-81 in Foster Township. Alyssa R. Endres, 21, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, was driving a 2005 Kia Optima northbound in the left passing lane when she lost control on the wet roadway. The vehicle crossed over the right lane and onto the east berm where it struck a dirt/rock embankment with the passenger side front bumper.

Endres was not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:52 a.m. along Route 61 in Blythe Township. Travis C. Campbell, 29, of Sunbury, Northumberland County, was traveling northbound in a 2006 Toyota Tacoma too fast conditions and lost control. The vehicle crossed over the right lane and struck guide rails along the berm. After impact the vehicle continued over the guide rail and came to rest down an embankment.

Campbell was not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.

Campbell was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
