Connor Rodgers (left) defeated Gabriella Nunez (right), 7-5, to capture the championship of the Valley Royale Junior Tennis Tournament held on Aug. 15. It was a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Middle States District sponsored event. Seven area tennis players took part in the tourney. Most had been part of Valley Royale’s mixed-age/skill level round robins and taking private lessons at the club since June. Ateira’s on First catered lunch for the tournament participants.
