Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown, is now holding one combined service each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There are now four options of worshipping: Worship in the sanctuary, must wear a mask, have temperature check, and social distancing required; worship in Leah’s Room with same rules as sanctuary and must keep mask on at all times as you watch the live service on a huge screen; you may worship in the parking lot and tune to 104.3; or you may join on Facebook Live. All services are led by Pastor Rob Timlin Sr.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is “Prayer & Praise Service” with the same options of worshipping.

Palmerton Library

The Palmerton Area Library hours are Monday and Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are no fines until further notice. There is no change to curbside service.

You do not need an appointment for faxing, photocopies or browsing. However they are required to limit the number of patrons in the library. Please call ahead to see if they can accommodate you. The number of computers are limited. Appointments are required to use a computer. Masks are required in the library.

Call the library at 610-826-3424 for information. If you are homebound, ask about the Home Bound Service. The library website is www.palmertonarealibrary.com.

St. John’s Lutheran Church

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, continues to hold Sunday morning worship services outside in the church parking lot at 9:30 a.m. The service is led by Pastor Jody over an amplified sound system.

The weekly bulletin can be found on St. John’s Facebook. All are invited to join in the service.

Chrysanthemum and donut sale

St. Luke’s Palmerton Auxiliary will be hold a drive-thru Chrysanthemum and Krispy Kreme Donut Sale on Sept. 19 in the parking lot of the old Palmerton Hospital, 135 Lafayette Ave. All orders must be preordered and prepaid by Sept. 10. Pick up an order form at the Nearly New Thrift Shop, 225 Delaware Ave. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You may also call 610-826-3677.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship on Sunday in the sanctuary at 10:15 a.m. The limited capacity of the sanctuary is approximately 40 people. If you wish to attend, please call the church office at 610-826-2524 so the number attending can be noted. You may be asked to wait a week if the capacity is filled. You are asked to wear a mask and may only enter through the main door. Holy Communion will be observed in a different manner. If you are unable to attend in person you may join on Zoom.

Bible Study is on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. on Zoom.

Palmerton Food Pantry

Just a reminder the CACPAC sponsored food pantry for Palmerton Area School District residents only will be held on Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This will be a drive-thru event and is held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.

Charity event

Come to the first Mission Racer Charity event at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton, on Saturday from 4:30-10:30 p.m. You must have a ticket to attend. Call 610-852-4051 or email bowmanstownrgc@outlook.com. This is an outdoor venue. Social distancing will be followed. Wear a mask. There will be door prizes, raffles and more. There will be super cup stock cars on display.

There will be a live concert by High Voltage, a premier AC/DC tribute band. The opening band will be Fever Tree at 5:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. The kitchen will be open during the entire event to purchase food and beverages.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be holding outside worship on Sunday at 9 a.m. in the picnic grove. Please bring a lawn chair and face mask. Social distancing will be followed. In case of inclement weather, services will be posted on Facebook.

Jerusalem UCC

Worship services at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, will be held in the church grove on Sunday at 9 a.m. Please bring a lawn chair and face masks are required. Social distancing will be followed with families being seated accordingly. Restrooms will be available. You can also remain in your car listening to 95.5 FM.

In Pastor Kathryn’s absence, the Rev. Jennika Borger will lead the service and provide an inspirational message. In case of inclement weather the service will be held in the sanctuary. You can remain in your car for this service also. The service will be recorded and available for viewing on Facebook for viewing around 11 a.m.
