Carbon County court — drug cases
The following defendants entered guilty pleas to drug charges on Monday morning in Carbon County court.
Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted pleas from the following:
Jeremy Carlos Gomez,
29, Freemansburg, Northampton County, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
He was arrested on Feb. 10 by state police at Hazleton after he was found in a backyard of a residence in Banks Township, under the influence of narcotics.
Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.
Lucas Leroy Coxe,
40, of Freeland, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. In exchange for the plea, the district attorney’s office dropped a charge of possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl. He also pleaded to driving under suspension.
He was arrested on March 6, 2019, following a traffic stop by Weatherly police along Plane Street.
On the drug count he was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service. On the suspension count he was fined $200.
Jason Loch,
47, of Kunkletown, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Jan. 6, 2019, by state police at Lehighton along Cherry Hill Road in Franklin Township, following a traffic stop.
Matika imposed a fine of $150.
Davlynn Marie Aaron,
33, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Feb. 28, 2019, by state police at Lehighton, following a traffic stop along White Street in Bowmanstown.
Matika imposed a fine of $200.
Garrick Michael Tomsic,
23, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Feb. 29 by Beltzville Park rangers along Old Mill Road in Franklin Township.
He was ordered to pay a fine of $150.
Tyshawn Akeem Thomas,
31, of Brooklyn, New York, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Nov. 9, 2016, by state police at Fern Ridge following a traffic stop along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.
He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to render 25 hours of community service.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
