The 11th annual “Banquet of Champions” was held last night at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. The dinner is held each year to recognize and present awards to youths who take part in the summer recreational program at the club.

Local winners honored included Nancy Thomas, runner-up in advanced swimming; Robert Thomas, runner-up in intermediate swimming; and Howard Weiss, first place in intermediate tennis and in the 9-hole golf competition.

Trophies were presented by John Malarkey, tennis; Patricia McCartney, swimming; and Henry Moyer, golf.

Mrs. Frank McCartney is chairman of all youth activities at the club.
