NCC holds medical secretary info sessions

Learn about a career as a medical secretary and the Northampton Community College’s program to prepare you for this field at a free information session.

Medical secretaries ensure that a medical practice, health care facility or treatment care center operate smoothly by greeting patients, maintaining schedules and accessing medical records.

Participants will also gain medical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and computer hardware and software.

Sessions will be held on Sept. 14, 11 a.m.-noon; Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-noon; Sept. 23, 7-8 p.m.; Sept. 24, 7-8 p.m.

There is a fee for the program. Scholarship assistance for the medical assistant program may be available to eligible applicants.

The medical secretary program is provided through a partnership with Eastcentral & Northeast PA Area Health Education Centers.

Participants must be 18 or older, be a Pennsylvania resident and have a high school diploma or GED.
