The Carbon County Heart Association paid deserving honor last night to L.H. Hoffmeier, a native of Jim Thorpe, at a testimonial held in the Lehighton Elks Home.

A former cashier of the Bank of Lehighton, he has been appointed executive vice president of the Liberty Bank and Trust Co., Allentown.

Hoffmeier was made the recipient of a certificate of merit, presented by Dr. E. Stanley Cope, Palmerton, president of the association, in appreciation of his long period of service as chapter treasurer.

His position with the heart association is being filled by Vernon R. Jones of Jim Thorpe.
