State police at Schuylkill Haven
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following arrests made by troopers.
• On Aug. 6, at 10:04 p.m. troopers stopped a 1995 Toyota along Route 209 in Schuylkill Township, for going 100 mph in a 55 zone. The driver was identified as Christopher Kuperavage, 27, of Port Carbon. A further investigation revealed that Kuperavage was driving under the influence and in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Charges will be filed, with the investigation continuing, troopers said.
• On Aug. 8 at 10:06 a.m. troopers made a traffic stop of a 2016 Ford Edge along Center Street in Frailey Township. A passenger in the vehicle, Victoria Binkley, 28, of Pottsville, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed.
• On July 18 at 9:45 p.m. troopers noticed a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta parked along Route 61 south in North Manheim Township, with its emergency hazard lights activated. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Dustin Parsons, 34, of Schuylkill Haven, a small amount of marijuana was observed on the driver’s seat. Charges will be filed.
• On Aug. 7 at 12:41 a.m. troopers responded to a residence along Robin Road in Pine Grove Township for a domestic incident between a man and woman. During the course of the incident the woman chased the man with a knife with intent to kill him. The man was able to get inside his residence and locked himself inside. The woman then sliced her wrist with a knife with intent to harm herself.
The woman was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville, for treatment and later committed to the mental health unit.
The woman was only identified as a 56-year-old from Jonestown, Lebanon County; and the man as a 56-year-old from Pine Grove.
• On July 20 at 1:10 p.m. troopers responded to the area of 7 Church St., in Wayne Township, for a report of a intoxicated man acting erratically in a field. The man was reported to be on the ground hitting his head onto the ground repeatedly.
On scene troopers found Steven Ryan, 42, of Pottsville. He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville, for treatment. He was cited for public drunkenness, troopers said.
• Troopers said Brian Peterson, 21, of Nanticoke, Luzerne County, is facing a charge of persistent disorderly conduct for an incident on July 20 at 9:37 p.m. along Sweet Arrow Lake Road in Wayne Townshiip. Troopers said Peterson yelled obscenities at a 39-year-old woman from Pottsville and started the mower portion of a tractor kicking rock and debris on the victim.
