In a report to the Lansford Borough Council, Vincent Spisak Jr., manager of the town’s recreation center (swimming pool), noted daily attendance at the facility ranges from 200 to 500.

He said hundreds of young and not-so-young have been trying to beat the hot and humid weather on a regular basis.

The pool’s membership to date is 900 Lansford residents and 150 out-of-towners. Spisak said visitors to the area have taken advantage of the modern swimming facility and have commented on its beauty and cleanliness.

Spisak said programs conducted there - Care Bears, Discover Nature, Arts and Crafts, Women’s Aerobics and swimming lessons - have been well-attended on a regular basis.
