State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a fraud incident in Monroe County.

On July 30 about 2:55 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the William H. Kresge Funeral Home Inc., 1783 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township, or a theft report. Troopers said $25,000 was stolen through fake wire transfers. No other details were reported. Troopers said the investigation is continuing.

Troopers are also investigating a sport utility theft. A 57-year-old man from Brittany Drive, Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported on July 28 about 10:19 a.m. he returned home for work to find his 2013 Mazda CX5 had been stolen. The vehicle is blue with black mirrors and black wheels with state registration number LCZ8506.
