Pa. virus update: 705 Positives Bring Statewide Total to 115,714

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight, that there are 705 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 115,714.

The number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 29 and August 4 is 148,934 with 5,625 positive cases. There were 18,814 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., August 4. These results represent the total number of tests administered.

There are 7,244 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 12 new deaths reported.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 19,740 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,047 cases among employees, for a total of 23,787 at 867 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,941 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 8,460 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County remains stable with 364 cases, with 28 deaths.

In Lehigh County, there are seven new cases for a total of 4,877. Deaths remain at 335.

Luzerne County is reporting 3,377 cases. Deaths remain at 183.

In Monroe there are three new cases, bringing the total to 1,611, with 124 deaths.

Northampton County logged 13 new cases, bringing the total to 3,891. One additional death is reported for a total of 291.

Schuylkill County had five new cases. The total is 900, with 49 deaths.
