Road closed in Chestnuthill after truck hits pole

Around 10 a.m. Friday, a tractor-trailer struck a pole and knocked the pole and wires down at the intersection of Route 209 and Old Route 115 by the Chestnuthill Diner in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

The tractor-trailer spilled an undetermined quantity of diesel fuel. Fire units are assisting spill mitigation.

State police report Route 209 South is closed between Hamilton South Road and Route 3017 while cleanup is in progress. A detour was established.

Power is currently out to around 400 people in the area.
