Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church

Sunday worship services at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be held in the picnic grove at 9 a.m. Bring your lawn chair and face mask. Social distancing will be followed. In case of inclement weather, services will be posted on Facebook.

Takeout meal

WELCA of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville will be holding a takeout meal sale on Aug. 19 from 4-6 p.m. Meal includes barbecue with roll, filling with gravy and carrots. The cost is $7 a meal. This will be a curbside pickup at the entrance to the church. To order ahead, call 610-681-5200 Tuesday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Palmerton Area Historical Society

The Kibler School Program Committee needed to cancel the “Lore of the Elderberry” program presented by Josh Finsel, due to inclement weather on July 23. The program has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. today at the Kibler School at 6495 Pohopoco Drive.

Please bring a lawn chair and mask. The program will take place outside. It will be canceled in case of inclement weather.

Scott Christman will be presenting “Responsibilities & Activities of the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission” on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown, is holding worship service each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There are three options of worshipping: Worship in the sanctuary, must wear a mask, have temperature check and social distancing required; you may worship in the parking lot and tune in to 104.3; or you may join on Facebook Live. All services are led by Pastor Rob Timlin Sr.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is “Prayer & Praise Service” with the same three options as Sunday worship.

Zinc City Motorcycle Club

Zinc City Motorcycle Club, 10485 Interchange Road (Route 209), Kresgeville, will be holding a Car, Truck, and Bike Show with Flea Market on Sunday. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. Show and Flea Market to 2 p.m.

For more information, call 610-570-8411. The club will be complying with all CDC COVID-19 guidelines. No pets allowed. Food is takeout only. There will be door prizes and 50/50.

Free spectator admission.

Curbside breakfast

Parryville Volunteer Fire Co. #2, Main Street in Parryville, will host a curbside breakfast on Sunday from 8-11:30 a.m. There is a limited menu. Takeout is preferred but limited seating will be available for those requesting dine in.

Sunday Concert in the Park

This Sunday’s Concert in the Palmerton Borough Park will feature the Second to None Band. The concert will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Please bring a lawn chair, and masks and social distancing are required. No smoking is allowed in the park.

On Aug. 9, the concert will be by Steel Creek.

Palmerton Area Library

You do not need an appointment for faxing, photocopies or browsing. However they are required to limit the number of people in the library.

Please call ahead to see if they can accommodate you. The number of computers is limited. Appointments are required to use a computer.

Jerusalem UCC

Sunday worship services at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville begin at 9 a.m. in the church grove. This will continue until further notice. Bring a lawn chair and face masks are required. Social distancing will be observed.

Families may be seated together accordingly. Refreshments will not be available, but feel free to bring your own. Restrooms will be available. You also can remain in your car and listen to the service on 95.5 FM. In case of inclement weather the service will be held in the sanctuary. You can remain in your car for this service as well.

Communion will be held on the first Sunday of August, September and October. Please bring your own communion elements (bread, crackers, water, coffee, wine, whatever you prefer).

The following events have been canceled due to COVID-19 and for the safety of all involved: Flea market, Vacation Bible School, annual church picnic, Palmerton Festival Stand, Apple Fest, and the Fall Bazaar have all be canceled.

Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Thrift Shop will be opening from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 4. Masks and social distancing are required. We are however not accepting donations at this time as our storeroom is overflowing.
