Search for missing PV woman

A major search was underway this morning in a wooded area around Panther Valley High School for a missing Panther Valley woman.

According to the Summit Hill Borough Facebook page, the missing woman is Lilliana Colancecco.

Colancecco left her home at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to reports.

She was last seen in the woods in the area between Panther Valley High School and Knepper’s Trailer Court, located about a quarter mile west of the high school.

She is described as about 5 feet tall and has a slender build. She was wearing “white stretch pants and a pinkish windbreaker.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.

Participating in the search were local police, state police, ATVs and various fire departments.

The fire departments include Summit Hill, Lansford, Nesquehoning, Weatherly, Albrightsville, Lake Harmony and Jim Thorpe.

The Carbon County Emergency Management Agency was also on scene.

A state police helicopter was called in to assist in the search.
