State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes:

• Asia M. Simmons, 24, of Monroe, New York, sustained suspected minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 5:48 a.m. July 4 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said she was transported by Lake Harmony Rescue Squad personnel to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata eastbound when it struck the guide rail on the left shoulder of the road and overturned.

The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.

Police said Simmons was cited in the crash.

• A New Jersey man driving on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township at 1:42 a.m. July 8 avoided a deer that entered the path of his vehicle but the car went out of control and flipped over, police said.

Police said Suraj S. Mudichintala, 25, of Morganville, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

They said he was eastbound when he swerved his 2015 Volkswagen Passat to avoid the deer that entered and the vehicle ended up overturned on the right shoulder of the road. It was towed from the scene.

The Pocono Area Ambulance responded but there was no transport of the victim to the hospital.

• Stephen T. Smith, 30, of Brodheadsville, was hurt in a crash of a mini-scooter he was driving at 2:20 p.m. July 14 on Frantz Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was transported to the St. Luke’s-Geisinger hospital by the West End ambulance corps. Police said he sustained suspected minor injuries.

Police said he was driving the 2000-model mini-scooter west on Frantz Road when he lost control of it and it tipped onto its side. It was towed from the scene.

• Cristian Guity, 31, of the Bronx, New York, sustained minor injuries when a car he was driving struck a deer at 3:05 a.m. June 22 on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township.

Police said he was operating the 2020 Honda Accord eastbound when it struck the deer at mile marker 283.1.

Police said he was evaluated at the scene by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional EMS corps. Neither Guity, nor his passenger, were uninjured.

The car needed to be towed from the scene.
